Gen. Jalali said at a ceremony in Tehran on Sunday that former Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Forces commander Maj. Gen. Amirali Hajizadeh played a key role in the design and construction of underground missile towns based on the standards and principles of passive defense that enabled the country to impose military force on the Zionist regime in June’s 12-Day Mandatory War (the 12-day sacred defense against invasion by the US-Israeli regime).
“While the 12 Days of Sacred Defense model brought very important achievements to the country, it also revealed some vulnerabilities,” he said, adding that “from a passive defense perspective, these weaknesses, especially in the country’s infrastructure sector, should be urgently addressed.”
“The country’s passive defense apparatus has on the agenda several plans to strengthen its preparedness and conduct exercises, in accordance with the measures of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the government,” the organization’s head said.
