Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian met with Oman’s Interior Minister Saeed Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi in Tehran on Monday.
“Communication and exchanges between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Oman have always been based on brotherhood, mutual respect and goodwill. The two countries have always helped each other in the ups and downs of the region,” Pezeshkian said during the meeting.
“Oman’s efforts in supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran in mediation efforts and hosting talks between Tehran and Washington are commendable and demonstrate the wise and peace-seeking approach of its authorities,” the President added.
Mr. Pezeshkian also pointed to Oman’s clear and unequivocal stance in supporting the oppressed people of Gaza and condemning the crimes of the Zionist regime, saying: “This humanitarian and Islamic stance of Oman is very valuable. As Muslims, we are grateful for this compassion and support. If all Islamic countries supported the people of Gaza with such an approach, we would not have witnessed the tragic and regrettable events in the Gaza Strip.” region. “
Elsewhere in his remarks, the President emphasized the importance of unity among the Muslim Ummah.
Furthermore, he expressed his hope that the Omani Minister of Interior’s visit to Tehran will serve as a basis for further strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries, stating, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to expand exchanges with Oman in all fields of science, economy, culture, society, and politics, and I hope that this visit will lead to further development of bilateral relations.”
Oman’s Minister of Interior expressed his pleasure on his visit to Iran and his meeting with President Pezeshikian, calling the relations between the two countries privileged and historic. He added: “There is no doubt that the relationship between Iran and Oman is special, deep and full of sincerity. His Excellency visited Muscat five months ago and the valuable agreements and understandings reached there also point to a clear path for cooperation between the two countries.”
Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi went on to express his gratitude for the Iranian President’s position in strengthening relations with Islamic countries, especially Oman, saying: “This constructive approach by the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been stable over the past decades, and Oman has followed suit in the same spirit of brotherhood and goodwill.”
“We look forward to the excellent and strong relationship between our two countries continuing with even more strength and determination, and we will strive to deepen and strengthen this relationship as much as possible,” he added.
