The ceremony was held at the venue of the Pakistan Embassy in Tehran and was attended by Ambassador Mohammad Mudasir Tipu and other Pakistani embassy officials and staff, local residents, and a large number of journalists and media activists. The event was held to express solidarity in the cause of Kashmiris and their struggle for self-determination.
At the meeting, messages of the occasion from President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif were read out to the attendees.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran Muhammad Mudasir Tipu reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for the cause of Kashmiris and their right to self-determination.
He further added that Kashmiris in IIOJK are victims of violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.

Ambassador Mudassir also reiterated the Government of Pakistan’s determination to continue providing political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir.
He urged the international community and international organizations, including the United Nations, to urge India to cease the use of force against innocent civilians and resolve disputes in accordance with the United Nations Charter and other Security Council resolutions.
A photo exhibition was also held to highlight the Kashmir cause.
