The exhibition, held at the National Agricultural Technology City in Yangling, Shaanxi Province, China, is recognized as one of the most important agricultural events in the world, showcasing the latest technological achievements in the agricultural field every year.
The 32nd China Yangling Agricultural High-Tech Fair opened on Saturday (October 25) in northwestern China’s Shaanxi province, featuring an agricultural robot contest and a display of smart agricultural machinery.
Iran’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture stressed the importance of modern agriculture and food security, which relies on the scientific and research capabilities of Iran and the region, at a specialized meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries.
Gholmreza Golmohammadi explained the role of modern agriculture in ensuring food security and highlighted Iran’s achievements in dealing with drought and environmental problems in recent years, noting that over the past 40 years, Iran’s agricultural production has increased from 30 million tons to more than 130 million tons.
He pointed out that this increase in production has occurred without major changes in the agricultural cultivation sector, underscoring the important role of new technologies in improving efficiency and productivity.
Gol Mohammadi cited the launch of the National Center for Monitoring Agricultural Production Patterns, increased use of drones in Iran’s agricultural sector, nationwide smart irrigation, underground drip irrigation technology, and the application of nanotechnology in agriculture as some of Iran’s achievements and initiatives in modern agriculture, and called for the exchange of experiences and achievements among the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
