The Ambassador gave a speech at the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held in Tehran, stressing that Japan is keen to strengthen ties between Tehran and China.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Chinese envoy noted that he had recently met in Tehran with Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the leader of the Islamic Revolution, and said that the international community opposes unilateralism and that the path of unilateralism would lead to an impasse.
Regarding China’s concept of multilateralism, he said, “Looking at the current international community, it can be said that the trend toward unilateralism is becoming stronger.Some countries, such as the United States, are not only building walls, but also trying to break the chain of cooperation.”
China believes the world needs a multilateral spirit and an inclusive economy, the ambassador said.
Turning to the joint letter written by Iran, China and Russia to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi regarding the termination of UN Security Council Resolution 2231, the Chinese envoy noted that China has always maintained that resolving Iran’s nuclear issue through peaceful and diplomatic means is the only option.
