Mr. Pezeshkian was speaking at the National Nurses’ Day ceremony commemorating the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (SA), highlighting the utmost efforts of the country’s medical staff during the 12-day US-Israel war against Iran.
He pledged that his administration would do its best to financially support the country’s hardworking nurses and medical staff.
Zionist enemies thought that if Iran attacked with bombs and missiles, people would take to the streets and Iran would collapse, but Iran, a noble Islamic country, responded decisively to its enemies, Pezeshkian stressed.
He emphasized that Iran will not bow to enemy pressure, and pointed out that his administration will strive to resolve the problems faced by its people with unity and friendship from all walks of life.
Pezeshkian said the health of the people is his administration’s top priority and called on nurses and medical staff on the front lines of the fight against the disease.
At the end of the ceremony, President Pezeshkian awarded the Plaque of Honor to the country’s exemplary nurses.
The Israeli regime launched a blatant and unfounded onslaught against Iran on June 13, sparking a 12-day war that left at least 1,064 people dead in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
A few days later, the United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities in a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic locations throughout the occupied territories, as well as Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran successfully thwarted a terrorist attack through successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
