According to the Iranian Embassy in Belarus, Ryzhenkov made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with Saeed Khatibzadeh, Director of the Political and International Affairs Center of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He said that the upcoming visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to Minsk, the planned visit of the President of Belarus to Tehran, and the completion of several joint projects in the transport and connectivity sector are among the main agenda items for both countries.
Khatibzadeh, who was in Minsk to attend the International Conference on Eurasian Security, emphasized Iran’s determination to develop comprehensive relations with Belarus and remove existing obstacles.
He expressed hope that the upcoming meeting of the Iran-Belarus Joint Economic Commission to be held in Tehran will further strengthen bilateral cooperation, as well as the exchange of high-level delegations and the signing of a strategic partnership agreement.
In a separate meeting, Khatibzadeh also met with Oleg Makarov, director of the Belarusian Strategic Institute.
Both sides discussed bilateral relations, regional and international developments, potential areas of cooperation, and stressed the need to hold regular expert-level meetings between their respective research centres.
