Hojatleslam Mohammad Jawad Haji Ali Akbari, who delivered this week’s Friday prayer sermon in Iran’s capital Tehran, pointed out that in a few days the 13th of Aban will become the National Day of Combating Global Arrogance in the Iranian calendar, saying, “This day is a day to look back on history and (a period of modern Iranian history) starting from the 1953 coup d’état to the exiles.” The massacre of the late Imam Khomeini, the takeover of the spy den (formerly the US Embassy), and the events that followed the revolution are manifestations of a 72-year-old deep-seated hostility towards the Iranian state. Moreover, this year, a new page in history was written when Iran was attacked during negotiations with the United States for its unleashed dog: global arrogance. It is against the principles of a strong Iran, an independent Iranian identity, and a prosperous Iran. ”
He described the takeover of the U.S. embassy by Iranian students, quoting Imam Khomeini, who said the students’ actions were more important than the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Haji Ali Akbari also said that the United States under Donald Trump is essentially America, committing all crimes against humanity for money.
The Tehran Friday Prayer leader went on to describe the United States and the Zionist regime as the most hated regimes in the world.
At the end of his speech, he said that maintaining national unity and resistance is the only way to counter US hegemony-seeking policies.
