Badr Abdellatti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Residency in Egypt, held separate telephone conversations with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragushi and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi.
According to local Egyptian media on Friday, the talks focused on restoring Tehran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and easing tensions in the region over Iran’s nuclear activities.
The call focused on developments regarding Iran’s nuclear file and efforts to support regional security and stability through peaceful means.
Abdellatti stressed the importance of continuing dialogue between the parties concerned, resuming and strengthening cooperation between Iran and the IAEA in line with the agreement signed in Cairo on September 9, and strengthening communication between all parties in the coming period.
He further pointed out that the discussions were held under the direction of President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi with the aim of de-escalating the situation in the Middle East and promoting peace.
