Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Zahra Behruz-Azar congratulated Turkey on its National Day and highlighted the deep historical, cultural and religious ties between the two neighboring countries.
She said that Tehran and Ankara have always enjoyed close and respectful relations and looked forward to further expanding ties in the economic, cultural, scientific and social fields.
“By strengthening their railway infrastructure, Iran and Turkey can play an effective role in connecting East and West and strengthening regional economic links,” Foreign Minister Behruz Azhar said at an event hosted by the Turkish Embassy.
He added that expanding railway capacity, completing joint projects and facilitating freight transport between the two countries will benefit not only Iran and Turkey, but also other regional countries.
Behruz-Azar also stressed the importance of strengthening cultural cooperation between the two countries, saying that Iran and Turkey have “enormous capabilities in the field of culture and the arts” and that these common strengths can be leveraged to build “deep and lasting cooperation for future generations.”
