President Masoud Pezeshkian visited the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and inspected an exhibition showcasing the latest achievements of Iranian nuclear scientists in the fields of health care, medical technology and radiopharmaceutical production. He then held an intimate meeting with the organization’s leaders.
President Pezeshkian paid tribute to the martyrs of the 12-day forced war and to Iran’s nuclear scientists, calling the efforts of the country’s nuclear experts a form of scientific jihad and a sincere service to the nation. He emphasized that the production of radiopharmaceuticals and the development of modern medical technologies are essential national needs that must be pursued with greater speed and determination.
Underscoring Iran’s strong position in radiopharmaceutical production and its potential in the global medical market, Foreign Minister Pezeshkian said, “It is extremely important for our country to embrace advanced technology and participate in global competition. Arrogant powers are trying to deprive independent nations, including Iran, of access to modern technology and keep them dependent on assembly industries while producing and selling medicines at exorbitant prices.”
He called for a strategic plan to increase Iran’s share in the global radiopharmaceutical market, stressing that while meeting domestic needs remains a priority, export development and professional marketing must also be pursued.
“The quality, effectiveness and affordability of our products will make Iran a leader in this field,” the president concluded.
President Pezeshkian said hostilities and assassinations targeting Iranian scientists stem from great powers’ concerns about Iran’s scientific and technological independence.
He stressed that Iran has repeatedly declared that developing nuclear weapons is not part of its national agenda, and world powers are well aware of this fact.
“Yet, they are using this false claim as an excuse to hinder Iran’s progress,” he said.
