According to Rep. Ebrahim Rezaei, members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee held a joint meeting with the Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Major General Mohammad Pakpour, senior officials of the Revolutionary Guards, and Brigadier General Kademi, head of the Revolutionary Guards’ Intelligence Department.
During the session, the commanders of the Revolutionary Guards presented a comprehensive report on recent operations. General Pakpour reviewed the achievements of the Revolutionary Guards since assuming command, highlighting actions taken during the 12-day war and subsequent operations aimed at deterring and responding to Israeli aggression, especially in the aerospace field.
Pakpour stressed that the current readiness of the Revolutionary Guards is “significantly higher” than during the 12-day conflict with the Israeli regime, and that the force is fully prepared to counter any threats or hostilities.
General Kademi also briefed lawmakers on the national security situation and the measures taken to strengthen internal security.
Committee members particularly praised the efforts of the Revolutionary Guards during the 12-day war, reaffirmed Congress’ full support for the force and pledged to use all available legislative capacity to support its mission.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant and unprovoked invasion of Iran, sparking a 12-day war that left at least 1,064 people dead in the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
The United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities in a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic locations throughout the occupied territories, as well as Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran successfully thwarted the invasion through successful retaliatory operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
