He made the remarks Tuesday at the annual commemoration ceremony for the martyrs. The ceremony will span a full week with various activities taking place in Yemen.
“A nation that advances in the spirit of jihad in the path of God and the spirit of seeking martyrdom is proud and able to avoid danger,” he said, noting that martyrdom is a barrier to destruction and humiliation.
The Yemeni leader stressed that great tragedies have occurred throughout the history of the Islamic Ummah, from the past to the colonial period to the present day.
Americans have admitted to killing nearly 3 million people over the past 20 years, most of them from the Muslim ummah, when they were in a vulnerable position.
He stressed that the enemy used starvation and weapons to force the people to surrender, but all in vain.
He said the US and Israeli regimes have done their best to brainwash Islamic countries and use them as slaves, adding that the US and Israeli regimes have occupied countries to use their populations for their own purposes.
According to al-Houthi, the oppressive forces have no mercy and commit all kinds of crimes to achieve their goals.
