Farzad Oujani, director of the Ministry of Tourism’s Handicraft Marketing and Merchandising Department, announced that six Iranian manufacturing and trading companies will participate in the 2025 China International Import Expo (CIIE) to be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10.
Oujani said the participation is part of efforts to expand export markets and expand trade opportunities for Iranian handicrafts, with support from Iran’s Ministry of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts.
Highlighting China’s growing potential as a major export destination, Mr. Oujani said, “The rapid growth of the middle class, increasing purchasing power, and growing interest in cultural and artistic products among Chinese consumers provide a rare opportunity to showcase authentic Iranian craftsmanship.”
He said the Shanghai Import Expo is an important gateway for Iranian products to enter China’s vast market, adding, “This event provides an important platform to showcase the potential of Iranian handicrafts, develop export opportunities, and build business relationships with Chinese buyers and investors.”
The Iran Pavilion will display a diverse collection of high-quality handicrafts, including enamelwork, printed textiles (kalamkar), kilims, leather goods, filigree art, woodwork and traditional jewellery.
