The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement on Friday, saying it strongly condemns the widespread military aggression by the Zionist regime against various parts of Lebanon.
The statement noted that the United Nations, the international community and the countries of the region have a responsibility to confront the occupation regime’s warmongering, hold it accountable and punish it, and warned of the dangerous consequences of this regime’s impunity and the continuation of its warmongering and expansionist policies for peace and security in the region.
Since the ceasefire agreement in November 2025, the Zionist regime’s military offensive against Lebanon, which has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of more than a thousand innocent Lebanese citizens and the destruction of infrastructure and residential areas, is a clear violation of national sovereignty and the territorial integrity of an independent country, and is considered a heinous crime against international peace and security.
These criminal attacks, undoubtedly planned and carried out with the full support and complicity of the United States, are another manifestation of the criminal, terrorist and hegemonic nature of the Zionist regime, and have no other purpose than to undermine Lebanon’s sovereignty and security and hinder the country’s reconstruction and development.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs further expressed its condolences for the martyrdom of the Lebanese people due to the brutal attack by Israel, underlined its solidarity with the Lebanese government and people against the Lebanese regime’s tyrannical aggression, and emphasized its support for Lebanon’s legitimate resistance and efforts to protect its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
