The prime minister made the remarks during a meeting with Ali Akhmadov, First Vice-President of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in Islamabad on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Nikzad pointed out the cultural, historical and religious similarities between the peoples of Iran and Azerbaijan, and stressed that Iran attaches great importance to strengthening relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all fields.
He stressed that the enemy is trying to sow discord between the two countries, but that their malicious and heinous acts are doomed to failure.
Iran and Azerbaijan have high potential to promote relations in all fields, the First Vice-Chairman of Iran stressed.
First Vice-Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan said that the peoples of Iran and Azerbaijan have always stood by each other and have strong ties, and it is hoped that these friendly relations will further strengthen and expand.
The Parliamentary Heads of Government Conference will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday under the theme of “Peace, Security and Development” and will be attended by delegates from each country.
Deputy Speaker of Iranian Parliament Ali Nikzad visited Islamabad on Tuesday to attend the Pakistan-hosted Speaker’s Conference (ISC).
