Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassim announced Friday that the international community’s failure to provide aid to Gaza is encouraging the occupiers to tighten their siege.
He noted the critical humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip following recent heavy rains and called on the international community to act in accordance with its moral, humanitarian and legal responsibilities towards the Strip.
After rain fell on dilapidated tents and destroyed houses, he stressed that the intensifying disaster in the Gaza Strip has exposed the entire international community to moral, humanitarian and legal liability unprecedented in history.
The continued failure of Arab, Islamic and international organizations to provide emergency aid to Gaza, despite the onset of winter, encourages the occupiers to tighten the siege, increase pressure on Gaza residents and intensify their suffering, the Hamas spokesperson added.
