According to Mehr News Agency, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister (Legal Affairs and International Affairs) Kazem Gharibabadi made this statement in an interview with Al Masira Network.
Ghalibabadi stressed that the United States bears full legal responsibility for the invasion of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
He said the snapback mechanism did not have the effect Western countries had hoped for, adding that Iran would respond if the AEA Council adopted a new resolution against it.
Speaking on Sunday on the sidelines of an international conference entitled “International Law Under Attack: Aggression and Defense,” Gharibabadi said the three European countries had withdrawn from diplomacy with Iran in light of their own actions and failures, and said they wanted to make up for the failure in Vienna.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Gharibabadi pointed to cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), noting that Iran had shown good faith to the UN nuclear monitor and reached an agreement in Cairo.
He said Iran was considering reviewing its cooperation and interaction with the IAEA, adding that it would launch a fundamental review once the draft resolution was issued.
