“Currently, there are no negotiations between Iran and the United States,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghai said Wednesday in response to a question from reporters about the US president’s claims yesterday regarding negotiations with Iran.
Citing the United States’ history of repeated violations of its obligations and excessive demands, the spokesperson said, “As the Foreign Secretary has repeatedly emphasized, there is no point in negotiating with a partner who does not believe in the reciprocity of negotiations, boasts of wrongdoing in the military invasion of Iran and the killing of Iranian children, and clearly seeks to dictate his own demands.”
In response to another question about the relationship between President Pezeshkian’s message to the Saudi Crown Prince and the Saudi Crown Prince’s visit to the United States, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, “The President’s message to the Saudi Crown Prince, conveyed by the new head of our Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, contained only bilateral content and included gratitude to Saudi Arabia for the services provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Iranian pilgrims during last year’s Hajj ceremony and the importance of continued cooperation and coordination to hold this year’s Hajj ceremony successfully. ”
