Minister Esmail Baghai on Thursday condemned recent acts of illegal incursions into Syrian territory by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a number of other Israeli occupation regime officials, and warned of the impact of the Zionist regime’s continued warmongering policies on peace and security in the region.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that this criminal act, carried out in the wake of repeated air and ground attacks on Syria and the occupation of large parts of southern Syria, was a provocative move to consolidate and expand the area of occupation in southern Syria, underscoring the responsibility of the international community and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to force the Israeli occupation regime to withdraw from the Golan Heights and all occupied areas in southern Syria.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Israeli-occupied territory in southern Syria on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Army Minister Israel Katz, Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, and Army Commander Eyal Zamir.
