Addressing a Basij volunteer force rally at Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum on Friday, Ghalibaf pointed to the 12-day war waged by the Israeli regime and the United States in June and said the Islamic Republic’s strength does not come from missiles, but from the support of its people.
“We are the strongest nation when the hearts of the people agree with us, but if not, our missile launches will not be as effective as they were (during the war).”
The speaker also said that the Israeli regime and its US backers had lost the battle at the hands of the Iranian people and the Iranian military.
“Aside from the damage we suffered on the first day of the war, on the sixth day of the war, the Vice President of the United States (J.D. Vance) sought to negotiate an end to the conflict through talks with Iran’s foreign minister,” he said.
“The enemy invaded with military force, and we used military force to warn and punish him,” Ghalibaf added.
He further stated that the Zionist regime could not have continued the war against Iran for more than a week on its own, stressing that it could only survive for a few days with the support it received from the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
He said that the enemy continued its hostility towards Iran in various forms even after the failure of the 12-day battle, and was trying to pull the population away from the Islamic regime through various means, including conducting psychological warfare.
The speaker further emphasized that keeping the population on the side of the Islamic regime is the real way to continue successfully defeating the enemy.
