Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to visit Paris this week at the invitation of his French counterpart, where bilateral issues and regional development are expected to dominate the agenda.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Bagai confirmed that Aragushi will depart for France after attending the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) annual general meeting in the Netherlands.
Baghaei said the visit will include discussions on bilateral issues, particularly the case of Iranian national Mahdiye Esfandiari, as well as broader regional and international issues.
Mr. Baghai emphasized Iran’s principled approach to diplomatic relations, based on mutual respect and the use of all diplomatic channels to clarify Iran’s position, including on Israel’s continued attacks in Palestine and Lebanon, Iran’s nuclear file, and other major global concerns. He added that the Paris meeting will be an important venue for Iran to present its clear views and legitimate demands.
