Iran’s top diplomat, who visited the Netherlands to attend the 30th Conference of the Parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention being held in The Hague, met with the Dutch Foreign Minister and exchanged views on issues of mutual relations and mutual interests.
During the meeting, the two leaders evaluated the agreement to resume political and consular consultations as an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Pointing to the rapid development in the international arena and the predominance of bellicose unilateralism in international relations, Iran’s Foreign Minister stressed the country’s responsibility to help promote the rule of law and avoid complicity in or indifference to U.S. law violations and acts of bullying.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Kamal Hosseinpour, the Sardasht resident representative in the Iranian parliament, Aragushi referred to the pain and suffering of the innocent victims of chemical weapons used by Iraq’s former dictator Saddam regime against Iran, including the city of Sardasht, and stressed the responsibility of European countries such as the Netherlands and Germany that were directly or indirectly involved in the supply and development of chemical weapons by the Iraqi regime. program.
Iran’s top diplomat called for serious cooperation from these countries in an independent judicial investigation into entities and individuals involved in war crimes against the Iranian people by Saddam’s regime.
