Ali Larijani made the remarks at a meeting at the Iranian embassy in Islamabad with the heads of Pakistan’s leading think tanks and Pakistan’s regional and international peace and security theorists.
“Americans try to pretend that they are at the center of any global change, but this is a form of self-deception,” Larijani said, adding: “We accept real negotiations, not fabricated ones. The outcome of negotiations should not be predetermined.”
Conveying the warm greetings of Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, to the noble people of Pakistan, Iran’s top security official took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the Pakistani state, government, parliament and army for their unwavering support to Iran during the war imposed on the country by Israel.
Emphasizing the deep cultural ties as the basis of Iran-Pakistan relations, he said that the basis of past and present cooperation with Pakistan is cultural affinity and that they also share intellectual unity in the political field.
Iran views Pakistan as a friendly and cooperative neighbor, and stressed that the Persian language is one of the factors that will bring the two countries closer together.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani pointed to the recent 12-day war, adding that it was part of a conspiracy that the United States and Israel had been planning for years, but that the malicious plot had been thwarted.
He added that what this war revealed was the will of the Iranian state, completely disappointing the Israeli regime, which thought it could defeat Iran.
Mr. Larijani then pointed out that there is no limit to Iran’s expansion of relations with its friendly Pakistan, and stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in all fields.
