Speaking on Saturday at the unveiling of the destroyer Sahand and the addition of the surface naval base Kordestan, he stressed that “currently Iranian shipping companies and oil tankers are present in the Gulf of Aden and are protected in the best possible way, and this issue is a manifestation of the presence of strong and powerful naval forces in Islamic Iran.”
He highlighted the importance of the sea to Iran’s national power, saying that Iran has the potential to connect to the high seas through the Persian Gulf.
Mr. Sayari stressed the need to increase naval power to develop the maritime (maritime) economy, adding that naval power triggers the formation and sustainable development of the maritime economy.
He stressed that the noble recommendations of Islamic Revolution leader Ayatollah Khamenei should be seriously considered in order to materialize the goal of a maritime economy.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he stressed the importance of enjoying ships and destroyers equipped with the world’s latest technology, saying: “Today, any country that wants to operate at sea must have the ability to defend itself against surface and subsurface attacks. Therefore, it is essential to enjoy the world’s latest and most advanced technology.”
