During the meeting, Mahmoud Heydari and Paweł Kowar discussed a wide range of issues in various political, economic, cultural and international fields, as well as the development of parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Poland.
Mr. Heydari referred to the historical relations between Iran and Poland, which have paved the way for the formation of a positive image of Poland among the Iranian people, and emphasized the importance of close exchanges and dialogue to achieve mutual understanding.
He expressed Iran’s readiness to develop relations with Poland at all levels, especially in parliamentary cooperation.
The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Parliament pointed out that the Polish people’s positive perception of Iran was formed due to the influence of the Iranians’ unique hospitality towards Polish refugees during World War II, and welcomed all exchanges to continue dialogue and consultations with the Iranian side.
In preparation for the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year, Mr. Paweł Kowal emphasized the strengthening and expansion of bilateral relations.
Iranian Ambassador to Poland Issa Kameri also attended the meeting.
