In a recent televised speech, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, referred to America’s involvement in various parts of the world as one of the factors fueling the war, referring to the Ukraine crisis. “The United States started a terrible war in Ukraine, but it achieved nothing. The current American president said he would solve the problem in three days, but now, a year later, he is imposing a 28-article constitution.” It is a plan for a country he himself has brought to war. ”
These few lines of text point out several issues, which I will discuss below.
1. In this text, the leader of the Islamic Revolution introduces Ukraine as a country that the United States has brought to war. Looking back, we can see that in the interests of the United States, within the framework of competition with Russia, it was necessary to weaken Russia’s role in international development in Eastern Europe, Western Asia and the Eurasian region. To achieve this goal, the United States decided to work with Europe to force Russia into a war with Ukraine and use the country as a bait to draw Russia into the war. For America, destroying the bait was not important. The important thing was to bring Moscow into war. In the process, the UK also reiterated the need to strengthen Ukraine’s military and allow the country to join NATO, and the pro-Western Ukrainian government, led by President Zelenskiy, welcomed a military conflict with Russia with the warm support of the United States and NATO. Thus America and Europe drew Ukraine into war.
2. As Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out, the current U.S. president announced that he would end the war in Ukraine within three days of entering the White House, but the war in Ukraine is still continuing a year after this claim.
After taking office, Mr. Trump insisted that he would establish peace by force between Russia and Ukraine, but at the same time, Vice President J.D. Vance was optimistic, saying, “Mr. However, over time, it became clear that despite several phone calls between Trump and Putin, as well as a meeting between top US and Russian diplomats in Riyadh, nothing came of it. Disappointed by Russia’s persuasion, President Trump tried to put pressure on Ukraine and Europe to negotiate with Russia, but the humiliating meeting with the Ukrainian president that led to Zelenskiy’s ouster from the White House showed that resolving the Ukraine crisis was not as easy as President Trump had imagined.
3. The leader of the Islamic Revolution also referred to Trump’s imposition of the 28-point plan in his statement, saying, “One year later, he is forcing the 28-point plan on the country he himself brought to war.” However, this 28-point plan that the United States has presented to Ukraine is exactly in Russia’s interests and satisfies the opinion of the Russian government. The plan comes as Russia gains greater status with its expansion into Ukrainian territory and control of key cities, so President Trump sought to satisfy Russia before seeking input from Ukraine and other European countries. According to the plan, two important and strategic Ukrainian cities, Donetsk and Luhansk, as well as the strategic island of Crimea, would remain under Moscow’s control, sanctions against Russia would be gradually lifted, NATO would have to negotiate with Russia to satisfy Russia, Ukraine’s NATO membership, which was the main reason for the war, would be eliminated, and the United States would guarantee implementation of the plan. In this unilateral plan, Russia would only agree to stop attacking Ukraine, which is the only outcome of President Trump’s Ukraine plan.
Apparently, NATO members, including Britain, France, and Germany, do not agree with the United States on this plan, but it is certain that NATO must refrain from expanding the alliance eastward and accept Russian dominance in the strategic Ukrainian region. Naturally, NATO’s acceptance of this plan will go down in history as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s second greatest failure after the occupation of Afghanistan.
Ultimately, according to Khamenei’s statement, this disastrous war launched by the United States was fruitless and served as evidence of President Trump’s warmongering policies. The US president, who said he would resolve the Ukraine issue in three days, is trying to force peace by presenting a 28-point plan after imposing war on Ukraine for a year, even though there is still no hope for peace in Ukraine.
