At a meeting of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament on Monday, the envoy stressed that the 25-year agreement between Iran and China is being implemented.
At the outset, the Iranian envoy gave a comprehensive report on the latest status of Iran-China relations and the implementation of the 25-year strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.
A spokesperson for Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said on Monday that the meeting with the special envoy to China lasted more than three hours.
Rezaei pointed to the report submitted by Rahmani Fazli on cooperation between Iran and China in various political, economic, cultural and trade fields, and said that President Pezeshkian’s visit to China this year had brought positive results.
Members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the National Assembly emphasized the need to outline a comprehensive roadmap with China and the implementation of the 25-year strategic partnership agreement between the two countries.
The spokesperson also described the relationship between Iran and China as “strategic” and called on responsible officials to focus on strengthening ties with China.
The Iran-China 25-Year Cooperation Plan or Iran-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is a 25-year cooperation agreement for the further development of Iran-China relations signed by the foreign ministers of China and Iran in Tehran on March 27, 2021. Under the 25-year draft agreement signed in Beijing on June 24, 2020, China is to invest $400 billion in Iran’s economy over that period. In exchange for a steady and large supply of oil from Iran.
