He made this statement during a meeting with Ibrahim Umakli, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey, at the Zero Waste Forum international conference held in Turkey.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and further development of cooperation between the two countries.
Nuri Geserge thanked Turkey for its cooperation in suppressing forest fires in northern Turkey, saying this move is a clear example of close ties and constructive cooperation between Tehran and Ankara.
Iran’s Minister of Agriculture then referred to mutual cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing that “in view of the wide range of joint issues between the two ministries, cooperation in the fields of food security and agriculture needs to be strengthened more than ever.”
Nouri Geserge emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences in the fields of agriculture, drought, livestock issues, water resources management and agricultural research, noting that Iran is ready to jointly cooperate with Turkey in related fields.
The Turkish Agriculture Minister said that improving food security and water productivity are two issues that have a serious impact on the economic stability and development process of two important countries in the region, especially Iran and Turkey.
Foreign Minister Ibrahim Umakri added that Iran and Turkey face serious challenges and concerns about the impact of these issues and need to cooperate seriously in this regard.
