The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff has strongly condemned the Australian government’s recent actions targeting the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). In a statement released on Sunday, the military said Canberra’s move lacked legitimacy and was an anti-Iranian decision driven by foreign pressure.
The statement said the Australian government’s reckless decisions serve the malign aims of the US-led global hegemony system and contribute to the continued oppression and crimes of the Zionist regime. The military added that Australia’s actions reflected nothing more than baseless and politically motivated claims pushed by the United States and the Zionist regime.
The statement further argued that this measure shows a fundamental misunderstanding of international reality. He stressed that such actions will only strengthen the Iranian people’s determination to strengthen their defense capabilities.
The military stressed that Australia’s move would accomplish nothing other than increasing domestic and international support for Iran’s military institutions, particularly the Revolutionary Guards, which it says is a powerful anti-terrorist force that protects the country.
