Pezeshikian expressed his deep sadness over the devastating incident in a message of condolence to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday.
“I am deeply saddened by the unfortunate events of floods and landslides in the Sumatra region that have claimed the lives and injured many Muslims of a friendly and brotherly country,” he said.
President Pezeshkian expressed his condolences on behalf of the Iranian government and people, offered prayers to the victims, and prayed for God’s mercy on those who lost their lives and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Underscoring Iran’s readiness to provide comprehensive humanitarian and relief assistance to the affected areas, Mr. Pezeshkian expressed hope that, by the grace of God, the effects of this natural disaster will be quickly addressed and the situation will return to normal.
