Continuing the new Israeli military incursion into Syrian territory, regime forces entered the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah with two tanks and several APCs.
Syria’s al-Akhbariya network reported a new operation by Israeli forces in the countryside of Quneitra. According to reports, occupation forces, supported by armored vehicles, entered the village of al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah on the morning of Tuesday, December 2, and destroyed an abandoned Syrian military base with remotely controlled explosives.
According to local sources, Israeli forces crossed the al-Hamidiyah road north of Quneitra. The convoy, which included two Merkava tanks, 10 APCs and an infantry unit, crossed the al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah road before advancing toward surrounding areas such as Juba and Umm al-Batina.
Witnesses stressed that after the occupation forces surrounded the village, they targeted and destroyed an abandoned military base that had not been used for years during the civil war.
The move was a “blatant and deliberate invasion”, according to an Al-Akhbariya reporter. After the invasion, thick smoke was seen rising from several nearby villages.
