Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran and Turkey, as two major powers in the region, are determined to take steps towards lasting peace, stability and regional development through close coordination and cooperation.
Foreign Minister Araghçi said that he hosted Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and his accompanying delegation in Tehran yesterday. He said that in a completely friendly and constructive atmosphere, the two countries reviewed the growth trajectory of bilateral relations and reaffirmed the firm determination of the two leaders to deepen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy transport, technology, security and culture.
He added that both sides expressed deep concern about the catastrophic situation in Gaza and the West Bank, strongly condemned the genocide committed by the Israeli regime, and agreed on the urgent need to stop these crimes and hold the regime accountable in international forums.
Regarding developments in Syria and Lebanon, Mr. Aragushi stressed that both countries fully respect national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity, and firmly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression.
