Brigadier General Mohammad Karami made the comments during his visit to the ongoing Sahand-2025 Joint War on Terrorism Games in East Azarbaijan, where he inspected the preparedness and morale of participating forces and stressed the need to maintain high readiness at all times.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran is a victim of terrorism, and there are 17,000 martyrs of terrorism. Therefore, the purpose of organizing and implementing this exercise is to counter acts of terrorism,” he said.
The commander said that Exercise Sahand 2025 is being conducted with the participation of many Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, adding that Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq and the Republic of Azerbaijan are participating as guest and observer states.
General Karami further reaffirmed Iran’s full readiness to counter all forms of threats and stressed that strengthening its defense and operational capabilities remains a priority.
