In accordance with Islamic teachings, women and men are complementary partners in building civilization, sharing equal dignity and unity, the leader said in a speech on Wednesday at a gathering attended by hundreds of women and girls from across the country on National Mother’s Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet’s daughter Hazrat Fatem-e-Zahra (AS).
Leaders warned against adopting Western cultural narratives and called for respect for women’s rights.
Noting that Western countries are trying to export a false culture to the world, he added: “While they claim that certain restrictions on women, including the hijab, hinder Western progress, the Islamic Republic has refuted this false logic and shown that Muslim women, bound by Muslim attire, can play a role in all fields better than others.”
The Leaders pointed to the progress Iranian women have made in various fields of science, sports, intellectual, research, political, social and health since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, noting that Iranian women have achieved all these achievements despite being honorable wives to their husbands and caring too much about their families.
“Islam advocates full respect for women’s rights, Khamenei further emphasized, adding that the Holy Quran highly values women and their role in society.
