According to Channel 12, Gift of Life, an organization that promotes kidney donation, has contacted Guinness to register records of 2,000 donors who have saved lives by donating organs in occupied Palestine.
The group said the application was “rejected for political reasons.”
Al Jazeera reported that the group paid the necessary fees and held a ceremony in Jerusalem al-Quds where all 2,000 donors were photographed together for the Guinness application.
However, I received an email from Guinness stating that they are “currently not processing records requests from Israel.”
The group subsequently asked for an explanation of the reasons for the move and a possible retraction, but has not received a response, the broadcaster added.
Rabbi Rachel Haber, who heads the group, said Guinness’ refusal to recognize the achievement was “unacceptable.”
Guinness has not commented on this report.
Meanwhile, the development comes as Israel is increasingly isolated due to the genocidal war in Gaza since October 2023.
Since then, Israeli forces have killed more than 70,000 people in Gaza, many of them women and children, and injured more than 171,000, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
The attack that devastated the enclave ended under a cease-fire agreement that took effect on October 10, the report added.
