The creation of Task Force Scorpion Strike (TFSS) is a major development and provides a way to “turn the Iran scenario on its head,” according to US officials. Earlier this year, TWZ presented a detailed case for why the U.S. military should invest heavily in the rapidly produced Shahed-136 clone as an adaptive capability that could be critical in future global operations, Warzone website www.twz.com reported.
U.S. Central Command today announced the creation of TFSS, saying it is a direct response to Army Secretary Pete Hegseth’s “Liberate U.S. Drone Control” initiative launched earlier this year. TFSS more specifically falls under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCCENT), which oversees U.S. special operations operations throughout the Middle East. CENTCOM’s Rapid Employment Integration Task Force (REJTF), which was established in September to support the rapid deployment of new capabilities in the region, also participated.
