Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, deputy commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), said at a ceremony in Hormozgan province that preserving revolutionary values from generation to generation remains the central goal of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He emphasized that the Revolutionary Guards maintain the closest connection with the general public, describing its service-oriented activities as a form of continuous, 24-hour worship.
Fadavi emphasized the strategic importance of Hormozgan due to its geographical location in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it one of the most important regions in Iran. He said the state plays an important operational and support role in the Revolutionary Guard’s missions on land, sea and air.
He added that the Revolutionary Guards are increasingly active in civil development programs such as water supply, agricultural projects, construction, watershed management, and restoration of traditional qanat systems. Fadavi said these efforts have accelerated in recent years.
Fadavi noted that the Revolutionary Guards in Hormozgan perform both operational and support roles across sea, land and air missions. These units are directly engaged in public service and mission performance across the state, he added.
He emphasized the supreme strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that it is the most important geographical zone in the world. More than 20 million barrels of oil pass through the waterway every day, he said, adding that global demand for energy from the Persian Gulf continues to grow and will increase further in the coming years.
Fadavi said Iran and Qatar hold the world’s second and third largest natural gas reserves, respectively, and no country can diminish the role or importance of the Strait of Hormuz.
He emphasized that the Revolutionary Guards are securing this vital corridor through air, land and naval forces.
Fadavi also warned of continued efforts by Iran’s adversaries to create instability in the region. He declared that the Revolutionary Guards would stand up “with all our might” if the United States tried to threaten Iran’s security.
He further stated that Iran has been consistently committed to maintaining security in the Persian Gulf, and that the region’s resources remain an important source of prosperity for the Iranian nation.
