According to Mehr news agency, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, Major General Mohammad Pakpour, highlighted the Corps’ capabilities in counter-terrorism in a statement marking the start of the final phase of the Sahand 2025 exercise.
He emphasized that there are no restrictions on the IRGC transferring its operational experience to other SCO member states.
According to Mair, Pakpour pointed out that the participation of military officials, commanders and senior officers from South African countries in the Sahand 2025 exercise reflects a common commitment to cooperation and collective will to fight terrorism.
The Iranian-sponsored exercise Sahand 2025 is a joint counter-terrorism exercise involving members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This event highlights the growing military cooperation between the Iranian government and Eastern bloc countries and underlines the government’s goal of establishing a unified, regionally focused approach to combating terrorism. Iran’s offer to share its Revolutionary Guards experience with SCO members signals its intention to strengthen security cooperation and expand its influence within the alliance.
