Official reports released by the Israeli military show an unprecedented rise in suicide rates among soldiers.
Based on official data released by the Israeli occupation forces, the number of suicides among occupation forces soldiers has skyrocketed since the start of the genocidal war in Gaza on October 7, 2023.
According to the Palestinian Information Center, this increase is due to increased psychological pressure caused by the ongoing conflict.
Based on these numbers, seven active-duty soldiers committed suicide between October 7 and the end of 2023. In 2024, 21 more suicides were recorded among Israeli soldiers.
Additionally, at least 20 more soldiers have taken their own lives since the beginning of 2025.
According to the data, before the war began, the average number of suicides among Israeli soldiers per year was about 12. Considering current figures, the suicide rate has almost doubled over this period.
