The Prime Minister took this opportunity to congratulate Islamic Iranian students, university lecturers, thinkers and intellectuals on National Students’ Day, highlighting the historic and outstanding role of universities and academic centers in scientific progress, national security and national authority.
Pakpour said the 16th of Azar commemorates National Students’ Day, a reminder of the strategic and historical role of universities and students in shaping Iran’s scientific, social and political identity.
Over the past four decades, the university has stabilized its position as a loyal companion of the revolution and the Islamic regime by dedicating 5,000 martyred students to the cause of national dignity, independence and national security, the head of the Revolutionary Guards emphasized.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the head of the Revolutionary Guards pointed to the 12-day war that Israel imposed against the country, saying that the Iranian state, under the wise guidance of its leaders and a strong military, had taught the United States and the Israeli regime good lessons and thwarted their malicious aims plotted against the noble Islamic nation of Iran.
Pakpour then claimed that the IRGC’s scientific center, specifically Imam Hussein (AS) University, could provide significant support in the areas of equipment, tools and weapons.
He stressed that more work is needed in areas such as air defense and stealth technology, noting that if Iran could equip its missiles with stealth capabilities, it could further increase the penetration rate of its missiles through the Zionist regime’s defense shield.
On June 13, Israel launched an unprovoked war against Iran, assassinating numerous senior officials, nuclear scientists, and civilians.
More than a week later, the United States also entered the war by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities, in grave violation of the United Nations Charter, international law, and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Iranian forces responded by attacking strategic locations throughout the occupied territories and the largest US military installation in West Asia, Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
On June 24, Iran announced that its illegal attacks had ceased due to retaliatory operations against Israel and the United States.
