Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who visited Baku for consultations with Azerbaijani officials, met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Monday morning.
The two sides discussed a wide range of bilateral issues, including the trajectory of political engagement, issues related to neighboring countries, and the mechanisms governing relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, Mr. Araghchi conveyed the warm greetings of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to President Aliyev, emphasizing the deep historical and cultural ties that connect the two countries. He reiterated Iran’s determination to strengthen and expand cooperation with Azerbaijan across all areas of mutual interest.
Minister Aragushi underlined the importance of a long-term vision in relations between neighboring countries and emphasized the role of continued diplomatic dialogue in addressing misunderstandings and managing ongoing issues.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also outlined Iran’s views on major regional developments.
President Aliyev conveyed his greetings to President Pezeshkian, calling the Iranian president’s recent visit to Baku a “historic” milestone that greatly advances mutual understanding and improves bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Iran-Azerbaijan relations and confirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to utilize all available capabilities to expand cooperation.
