Iran finished in 14th place at the 2024 Paralympic Games, winning eight gold medals, 10 silver medals, and seven bronze medals, the Tehran Times reported.
At a general meeting of Iran’s National People’s Congress held at the Paralympic Committee headquarters, Mr. Caregari expressed his determination to improve at the upcoming Paralympic Games.
“We finished as runners-up at the 2022 Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China. “We know that we have a difficult task ahead of us as we are candidates for the top spot. I don’t think third place in Nagoya is bad,” Callegari said.
“We will also use this event for the success of the Los Angeles Paralympic Games. We will make progressive changes to our strategy in Nagoya, with a view to developing new disciplines. We will aim for a better position in the medal rankings. I will continue to focus on winning the gold medal.”
The Iranian delegation hopes to finish in the top 10 at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, Callegari concluded.
