Hassan Abbaszadeh made the remarks on Saturday at the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement for the development of AI assistants for the petrochemical industry.
He pointed out that the petrochemical sector has achieved good growth thanks to its existing infrastructure and is already leveraging some of the most advanced technologies.
Mr. Abbaszadeh emphasized that the foundation of the petrochemical industry lies in the use of technology, technical expertise and licenses.
He emphasized the need to establish a roadmap for integrating global knowledge and AI into the industry.
“Today, by leveraging cutting-edge knowledge and technology, we can move towards sustainable development in all aspects,” the NPC chief said.
The Deputy Minister added that through a comprehensive plan, all petrochemical complexes can be interconnected and a forward-looking evaluation will be possible.
“The first step is to collect data into a central hub and accelerate the analysis needed to drive the best decisions,” he said.
Abbaszadeh explained that the next step could be to link petrochemical markets to a central database. “The recorded data can be used to perform market analysis and this capability is available to holding companies seeking market development,” he said.
He further said that AI could be used to analyze the need for new units based on national requirements, data and technology. “For example, this data allows us to know which products in the chain have higher added value,” he said.
Mr. Abbaszadeh emphasized the importance of promoting cooperation and exchanges to foster joint efforts. He said the agreement should be pursued by all parties to formalize it into a contract.
As a result of negotiations with Marun Petrochemical Company, it was agreed that the company would play a leading role in this effort.
