Speaking at a gathering of foreign ambassadors before the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to peace, regional stability and opposition to weapons of mass destruction.
During the meeting, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian gave a speech highlighting Iran’s stance on terrorism, war and global justice.
Referring to his youth during the revolution, Pezeschkian remembered that their fight was against discrimination and injustice. He emphasized that from the first few days, Iran has many political, religious and cultural figures who have been targeted by conspiracy and terrorist attacks and have been assassinated by people who opposed the country’s independence.
“The very people who committed countless terrorist acts against us are accusing us of supporting terrorism,” he said.
The president emphasized that Iran was forced into war shortly after the revolution and faced with invaders supported by many countries. However, the resilience and faith of the Iranian people allowed them to protect their land despite their limited resources.
“We were not invaders and we never sought war or anxiety,” he insisted. He pointed to recent assassination attempts against Tehran’s Ismail Hanie, and ignoring the murder of more than 14,000 innocent children in Gaza, whilst misdepicting Iran as a source of instability. He criticized the media.
He criticized the West for silence over Israeli war crimes, including hospital bombings and the murder of women and children. “What human rights allow children to be buried under the tile rub?” he asked.
Pezeshkian rejected allegations about Iran’s nuclear ambitions and reiterated that the leader of the Islamic Revolution issued religious orders against weapons of mass destruction. “Even those who blame us know that our doctrine does not allow mass murder, which can be verified at any time.”
He called the history of Israel’s regional attacks, saying, “Israel invaded all neighboring countries. They claim to support human rights, but who expelled the Palestinians from their land? What human rights justify forced evacuation of people from their homes?”
The President emphasized that true peace can only be achieved when justice wins, regardless of race, nationality or belief. “If we protect Gaza and Palestine, that’s because we stand with the oppressed people whose rights have been stolen,” he said.
Pezeschkian warned that oppressive regimes cannot last forever
Addressing the ambassador, he called for greater global cooperation to protect the world. “This planet is too valuable to be destroyed by war and injustice. Let’s work together to build a world where humanity is thriving.”
Pezeshkian also reiterated its commitment to strengthening relations with Iranian neighbors, promoting a strategic partnership between China and Russia. He expressed Iran’s willingness to sign agreements with all countries based on mutual respect and equality.
“I hope that your presence here contributes to stronger relations between our nations,” he told the ambassador.
