TEHRAN – In a memo, Jam-e-Jam addressed Trump’s recent statement, including his recognition that Iran is a strong country.
Netanyahu said Iran has become weaker, but Trump has different opinions. Iran has proven it strong through many actions. Trump claims Iran was weakened during his first term due to maximum pressure and lack of money, but Biden has strengthened Iran. Trump claims he contained Iran in his first semester, and now Biden’s policy has improved its terms, selling oil, and, according to their claim, disrupted the world. The US President wants to achieve something for himself by celebrating Iran’s strength and convincing the audience that we have reached an agreement with a strong Iran. In fact, from this perspective, the weakening of Iran in Trump’s eyes leads to criticism of him. Why did you negotiate or agree with a weak and defeated country?
Vatan-e-Emrooz: There is no chance of negotiation
In the commentary, Vatan et Emruz tackled Trump’s sanctions on Iran. It writes: One dangerous sanctions will reduce Iran’s oil sales to zero. In addition to the sanctions, the new US government has launched extensive negotiations and lobbying with several countries to cut trade with Iran. One of these pressures is related to the Iraqi government. It is pressing Baghdad to stop importing electricity and gas from Iran. Trump imposed unprecedented sanctions on Iran during his first term as president, then called for negotiations with Iran to apply maximum pressure and obtain the biggest concessions from him at the negotiation table. However, this time he seems to be acting a little more intelligently. He simultaneously seeks dialogue and pressure. Of course, there is no possibility of negotiation in such circumstances. In other words, the US government should not be offered the possibility of negotiation. Negotiations in this case will likely lead to much greater damage than those caused by the JCPOA.
Etemad: Smart diplomacy
In the article, Etemad discussed recent developments in the US foreign policy towards Iran. According to this paper, recent developments in US foreign policy, and Trump’s explicit statements on Iran in particular, demonstrate a shift in America’s approach to the Islamic Republic. Unlike his previous semester (from 2017-2021, Trump now appears to be looking at Iran’s issues more realistic. This policy change will be affected by American priorities at home In such a situation, the way Iran deals with these developments must specify future courses in complex equations formed between Iran and Israel, a combination of diplomatic rationality and domestic reforms. Iran, therefore, must choose to guide the country to secure its national interest and counter current challenges.
Arman-e-Melli: Negotiation or sanctions? !
In an interview with Yousef Molaei, a senior international law expert, Arman-e-Melli evaluated Trump’s policy against Iran, writing: Dialogue is required. The international community is actually trying to recognize Iran’s (nuclear) activities. But at the same time, it is important to know through the mechanisms that we want to achieve this recognition. Countries around the world generally follow this through the International Atomic Energy Agency and by implementing additional protocols. That is, through intrusive testing. This is exactly why our agency cameras are installed. Iran has principles that oppose the excesses of others. This policy has made these countries skeptical of Iran’s nuclear issue. Therefore, it is impossible to provide the necessary basis for reaching a nuclear agreement until political understanding is ceased.
