TEHRAN – A cultural event entitled “Tajikistan Night” will be held in Tehran on Tuesday and aims to enhance cultural ties between the two countries.
Organized by the Great Islamic Encyclopedia Centre, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Iran, the Hashid Institute for Cultural Literature, and the Friendship Association of Iran-Tajikistan, the event marked the first events in the “Diplomatic Night” series. Isna reported.
The meeting attracted prominent figures from the world of culture and literature. Ahmad Masjed Jamey, Deputy of the Great Islamic Encyclopedia Centre, Hohatra Ayubi, Director of the Hashid Institute, Tajikistan Ambassador to Iran Nizomidin Zohidi, Magnificent masterpiece of Persian poet Feldousi, a well-known literary figure in Tajikistan. Kazaji is an expert at Shakhnami, Falzona Kuhandi and Ali Ashraf Mojitad Shabestali, head of the Friendship Association of Iran and Tajikistan.
The keynote speaker shared insights into the rich cultural heritage of both countries and emphasized the importance of cooperation in the preservation of Persian language and literature.
Speaking at the event, Masjed Jamey shared personal memories from his visit to Tajikistan. He spoke about his trip before Tajikistan gained independence, and during that time he met with a coalition of Tajikistani writers.
At that meeting, Tajik cultural figures expressed concern over the renaming of Rudakijor after the revolution. In response, he said the proposal was brought to Iranian parliament, leading to the establishment of the Rudaki Foundation. He praised the initiative for its proposal by a representative of Tajik.
Masjed-Jamei also discussed the topic of Tajikistani Persian and literature, noting that he left the late Hassan Anuche to write a book on the subject.
The book was later presented to the President of Tajikistan during a visit from former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami.
Another important project was compiling a list of Tajikistani manuscripts carried out by Ali Baramian and Seyed Ali Mojani. He also mentioned donations of more than 30,000 books to the National Library of Tajikistan.
He further emphasized that Persians are the language of civilization and that Iran and Tajikistan’s relationship is deeply rooted and rich.
“We must pay more attention to our capabilities. The low exchange of tourists is a result of our neglect. As a result, cultural, political and social ties between the two countries need further development. “That’s,” he insisted.
The evening included a musical performance led by Majid Derahshani, singing by Ali Kodai and a reading of Shaname by Kehoslo Dehakani.
