Two earthquakes, 4.4 and 5.4 on the Richter scale, struck the Joseynier area of Khuhzestan, with trembling sensations in the provinces of Lorestan, Kermansha, Marcaj, Ilam, and even Hamadan.
According to Mehr News Agency, minutes after the first earthquake, the second tremor was 5.4 in size, and on Sunday night it occurred at 22:25 local time near the city of Hoseyniyeh in Khuzestan. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 15km and at coordinates of 48.35 degrees and 32.85 degrees latitude.
Cities closest to the earthquake epicenter include Joséinier (21 km away), Andeche (43 km), and Desfur (52 km). Furthermore, the capitals of the Khorramabad and Ahvaz provinces are located at 70 and 173 km from the epicenter, respectively.
So far, there have been no confirmed reports of casualties or serious damage caused by the earthquake. However, the assessment team and rescue units are currently assessing affected areas.
