British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer said he is ready to send British troops to Ukraine on Sunday if Moscow agrees to a deal calling for the presence of European peacekeepers.
This is the first time that British leaders have explicitly said they are willing to deploy the British Army in Ukraine and will come just before an emergency meeting of European leaders in Paris.
The priority is to attend meetings, an EU source close to the issue told Euronows.
While sending priority troops to Ukraine in the operation of the Daily Telegraph risked “harmful,” the crisis was a “existent” question in Europe and acknowledged that it was a “generational moment.” Ta.
He also said that Britain is willing to guide Ukraine’s defense and security, including committing £3 billion (€3.6 billion) per year until 2030.
His comments come after a whirlwind week by new Trump administration officials. Meanwhile, they suggested that the US would thwart its defence commitment in Europe and promote peace negotiations in Ukraine without the involvement of European leaders.
President Donald Trump’s Ukrainian and Russian envoy Keith Kellogg said on Saturday that Europe is unlikely to sit at the negotiation table in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
However, he said the “European Alliance” was “critical” to ensure Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Last week, Trump and US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses implied that they were not closely concerned with the return of the Russian occupied territories to Kiev or Ukraine’s long-standing NATO aspirations.
