President Donald Trump has now fully adopted Russia’s false propaganda against Ukraine, opposed sovereign democracy that was invaded in favor of invaders.
Trump’s fierce attacks on President Volodimia Zelensky led him to hold talks to end the war, but eliminated a country whose territory had been seized by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On Tuesday, Trump falsely accused Ukraine of launching a conflict, saying that Moscow President should hold a suspended election under daily attacks from Moscow troops as his country is at war I parroted about another Moscow topic.
Trump escalated the fight on Wednesday, after Zelensky fought back, accusing him of being in a “space of disinformation.”
In his post about his true social network, Trump argued that Zelensky “rejected elections and is very low in Ukrainian polls.” He said, “The election-free dictator Zelensky should move fast, he’s not going to leave the country. In the meantime, we’re well negotiating the end of the war with Russia. All of these things acknowledge that only “Trump” and the Trump administration can do it. ”
Trump’s claim that Zelensky is a dictator becomes one of Moscow’s rationales for the war. The elected Ukrainian leader is Russia’s long-term hope to replace him with a pro-Moscow head of state.
Trump’s turn against Ukraine is more than just a surprising sight as the US changes its sideways in the middle of the war. The surprising transformation of the country’s astonishing foreign policy, where America rejects the international system of alliances and friendship built to defend democracy, and the president seeks accommodation with authoritarians like Putin. Here’s an example.
Trump opened a rift on Tuesday after a high-level US-Russia conference in Saudi Arabia that ended the war.
Zelensky pushed back on Wednesday, accusing Trump of pitching Russia’s misconceptions and rehabilitation.
“Unfortunately, President Trump – I am very much in the field of disinformation, as a leader of the country that we have a great respect for the American people we are always supporting, and unfortunately we live in this disinformation field. I admire you,” Zelensky said.
“I hope Trump’s team is more true. All of this will not have a positive impact on Ukraine. They are pushing Putin out of isolation, so Putin and the Russians are involved in the debate. So I think I’m really happy. That’s new.”
The Russian embrace of the US president’s enemy is not a real institutional pushback to the Ukrainian position popular with Trump’s Maga base, but it worries Republican senators.
Senator Lindsey Graham, one of South Carolina’s top Trump supporters, frequently contradicted his golf partner on Wednesday, but he walked the fantastic political line.
“I blame Putin more than anything else when it comes to blame for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” Graham writes to X. A South Carolina Republican added that Trump “is the best hope for this war to be honored and justified. I believe he will succeed, and he will be in Trump’s way. You will achieve your goals.”
The US President’s comments spark new horrors among European allies. This also excluded from US-Russia talks in Saudi Arabia, and that Trump will try to impose a peace deal on Ukraine, which prefers his friends in the Kremlin.
His remarks also appeared to be directly inconsistent with the assurances made by his own Secretary of State Marco Rubio after meeting with a Russian delegation that the ultimate peace agreement would be fair for all parties.
French President Emmanuel Macron was holding another conference on Wednesday in Europe and other international countries on how Trump was treated, his opening to Putin and his attack on Ukraine.
This was the day after Trump began his attempt to represent Zelensky, who had been making calls that led to the first bounce each of the US presidents in his first term.
“We have a situation where elections are not taking place in Ukraine, and we have martial law,” Trump told reporters at his Mar-A-Lago resort. Trump also claimed that Zelensky’s approval rating was “4%,” and that “we have a country that has been blown away by Smithereens.”
A reliable vote was difficult in the middle of a war zone where thousands of Ukrainians saw evacuation or fleeing from the country. Recent research shows that Zelensky’s popularity has declined significantly from the near-universal recognition he enjoyed at the start of the war, but that’s not near the depth Trump quoted. Some recent polls have him approved more than 50%. This is equal or greater than the popularity of the US president.
The president also warned that elections should be held regarding the consideration of Ukrainian views on its fate. Has there been a lot of time passed since there was an election? ”
Trump claimed he was clearly sensitive to criticism that he parroted Russian propaganda in his statement about the war. “It’s not about Russia. It comes from me.”
Ukraine’s final election was scheduled for last April, but Zelensky said it’s not impossible for voters to go to wartime polls. Trump’s claims against voters making democratic remarks are ironic, given his refusal to refuse to listen to American verdicts in the 2020 presidential election he lost. And Putin is even more brave as he has been in power for over 20 years by holding fake elections and imposing serious domestic crackdowns.
Trump’s latest attempt to curate American sentiment around Ukraine resembles many of his previous efforts to cloud the truth to create room for his political aspirations. His most notable example was the 2020 election.
At Mar-a-Lago, he tried to reinvent the facts about Russian invasion three years ago. Putin’s army rolled across independent, sovereign democratic borders, rebrewing the map of Europe.
“I heard today, ‘Well, we weren’t invited,'” the president said. “Well, you were there for three years. It should end in three years. You should never have started it. You could have made a deal,” he says. I did.
Essentially, the president appears to suggest that the Ukrainians would have agreed to with Russia to avoid invasion. In reality, it will involve submission to the Kiev puppet government, loyal to Moscow, or simply giving up the fight to pass. Beat Putin.
Trump’s response to Saudi Arabia’s speech risked double what was already a victory for the Russian side, saying on Tuesday that a face-to-face meeting with Putin could continue by the end of the month. His comments are also likely to further strengthen opposition to his long-term peace programme among Europeans.
Trump appears vague about what the Ukrainian peace deal looks like, underscoring the impression that his top goal is all sorts of deals, so he insists on personal political victory It can, but his critics can promote future conflicts.
He said Tuesday that European troops are open to the possibility of enforcing a final deal despite being rejected by Moscow’s envoy in Saudi talks. He did not comment on British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer’s warning. That means that such forces can only be performed on the US “backstop.” This followed a warning from the US Secretary of Defense last week that the US military was not involved in maintaining peace in Ukraine. The Ancestors are scheduled to meet the president in Washington next week, presenting themselves as a bridge between the United States and Europe.
But Trump’s enthusiasm for Putin has not been shared by at least two senior senators.
Senate Armed Services Chairman Roger Wicker said Tuesday that he doesn’t think Russian leaders are reliable. A Mississippi Senator told CNN’s Manu Raju: “Putin is a war criminal and if he is not executed he should be in prison for the rest of his life.”
And Sen. John Kennedy stopped criticizing Trump’s approach to peace talks, but agreed to a colleague’s acidic assessment of Russian leaders. “Vladimir Putin has a black heart. He clearly has a taste for Stalin’s blood,” the Louisiana senator said. However, while highlighting the party’s respect for Trump, he also rejected the claim that the president offered important concessions to Russia by bringing it in from diplomatic isolation.
“I have never seen Putin take steps to remove pressure,” he said.
